Kenneth F. Kroner, PhD '88

Ken Kroner is an alumnus, investment strategist, and former associate professor of economics and finance. He made the leap from academia to industry in 1994, when he left the faculty at the University of Arizona to join Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock Inc. at the end of 2009. At BGI, he served as senior managing director in charge of Asset Allocation, Currency, Commodity, Client Solutions and Funds of Hedge Funds businesses. 

Ken was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2009, serving as Chair of the Investment/Finance Committee from 2012 to 2015. He is the current Chair of the International Leadership Committee, and a member of the Regional Celebration Committee for the Bay Area for the Campaign for UC San Diego.
