Kenneth F. Kroner, PhD '88

Kenneth F. Kroner, PhD, is a Vice Chair at Exos Financial, an investment bank startup that uses data and technology to provide better services to its institutional clients.  He joined Exos in 2022 when Exos acquired Pluribus Labs, the investment management firm that he founded.  Previously, he was a Senior Managing Director at BlackRock, where he ran their Multi-Asset Strategies and Systematic Active Equity businesses, and served as a member of their Global Executive Committee and Global Operating Committee. Prior to that, he was an economics and finance professor at the University of Arizona.

Ken serves or has served on various academic boards, foundation boards, corporate boards and academic journal editorial boards. His family’s philanthropic work focuses on social justice and human trafficking causes, and on education.  Ken served as the global chair of UC San Diego’s recent capital campaign, which raised over $3b in philanthropic gifts. 

He received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Alberta, and his Ph.D. from UC San Diego.
