UC San Diego Foundation Board of Trustees

From the Foundation's inception in 1972, the Board of Trustees has included deeply valued advisors to UC San Diego's leadership and advocates for the university within the community. The Trustees who serve on the Foundation play a critical role in the growth and success of the campus.

Message from the Chair

Despite the unforeseeable challenges of the pandemic, FY 2021 was a year of unprecedented successes. Generous giving to UC San Diego raised $376 million in private support, and the growth of the UC San Diego Foundation endowment has now surpassed $1 billion — ensuring financial security and stability for essential programs across campus and throughout the region. The volunteers, alumni, students, faculty, donors and leadership who came together with steadfast determination all played important roles in achieving these exceptional results.

Through an unwavering commitment to the health and safety of students, patients, faculty and our community, UC San Diego makes a real difference. The innovative, collaborative spirit at the heart of the university maintains an enduring strength that drives the pursuit of academic excellence through research, mentorship and public service.

As we prepare to celebrate both the close of the Campaign for UC San Diego and the 50th Anniversary of the UC San Diego Foundation, I am honored to serve as chair of the Board and to work alongside my fellow trustees and our incredible campus leadership. Together, we will continue to build partnerships locally and around the world that enable the Foundation to fulfill its mission: to raise and manage philanthropic support, steward the university’s donors and help create access and opportunity for our student leaders of the future.
