Endowment and Financials

The UC San Diego Foundation is committed to helping obtain private gifts in support of UC San Diego’s strategic plan: an effort to remain a student-centered, research-focused, and service-oriented public university. The Foundation accepts, administers, and invests these private gifts—managing more than 3400 funds and over $1.4 billion in assets, over $1.1 billion of which is endowment. All of these funds are used according to the intentions of the donors to benefit the multitude of schools, departments, and other units which make up UC San Diego and ensure that it remains one of the world’s top research universities for faculty, staff, and students.

Endowment Report

The Office of Gift Policy Administration and Donor/Fund Stewardship prepares and sends a report to donors annually on the financial status of endowed funds. The reports are prepared on a fiscal-year-end basis and delivered to donors each fall.
